EMCOR Group, Inc. Subsidiary Awarded Contract For Installation Of Mechanical Systems At Kansas City Power And Light Headquarters

NORWALK, CONNECTICUT, July 22, 2009 - EMCOR Group, Inc. (NYSE: EME), a Fortune 500® leader in mechanical and electrical construction, energy infrastructure and facilities services for a diverse range of businesses, announced that its Fagan Company subsidiary has received a contract for the installation of the mechanical systems for a major retrofit at the new headquarters for Kansas City Power and Light (KCP&L) located in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Fagan will be responsible for HVAC and plumbing system refurbishment and installation associated with 11.5 floors (230,000 square feet) in KCP&L's headquarters facility located in downtown Kansas City. Scope of work includes, refurbishment of existing air handling units, as well as installation of distribution ducts, fan-powered boxes, fan coil units, sound attenuators, grilles and diffusers. Fagan will also install temperature controls, plumbing, and new fixtures. Additionally, work includes modifying piping to accommodate the raised floor air distribution, connection to existing chilled water air handling units for cooling and ventilation, and providing electric heat in the new fan powered boxes. The building has been designed to LEED Gold standards as determined by the U.S. Green Building Council.
